Giant screwed the pooch a bit with their OD2 systems. Get the proper headset and stem and never look back.

But you'll need a new "cup" (thing that inserts into the frame) as well.

So got the parts today.

Steerer is cut, star nut is in and fork ready for install.

 

By the way: the upper bearing OD on OD2 and standard 1"1/8 steerer is the same so there is no need for a new cup. Apparently the only difference is the bearing bore. Will see about that when I install later...

Got some info from RS dealer. Apparently I can convert a solo-air with a 120mm air spring module. +-R850 + fork service. Cheaper than buying a new fork.

Any info about converting the dual air (RCT3). 

I really want to change to 120mm too.

I know some of the older dual airs had spacers that could be removed, but other than that I can't help. Open it up and see what it looks like inside.

 

I did eventually change my solo air to 120mm, but that's not going to help you.
