Ok first some quick background

I feel like **** and have felt the flu comming on for the last week. So our company has a doc which comes around every Thursday to visit the staff. Great I think, instead of paying 200 bucks to my regular GP for him to tell me I have the flu I will go to this guy for free and get a prescription.

Herewith the consultation

Muxman: Hi Doc

Doc: Hi there how can I help you?

Muxman: I feel like ****, I have the flu comming on

Doc: You know what I find works really well is Vitamin C, I take it all the time and never get the flu.

Muxman: Yes Doc I take 2000mgs of vitamin C per day but somehow I have picked it up.

Doc: Let's take your blood pressure - 90 over 60 that's ok. Sits down and starts to write out prescription. I am prescribing you Calcivita.

Muxman: Uh Doc but that is Vitamin C, I have just told you I take 2000mgs per day.

Doc: Yes but you should try this one it is very good.

Muxman: Gets up calls him a moron and walks out the consultation room.

Now here is the best part, this guy works for medi clinic and is one of our famous foreign imports.

Yes and no. Exactly how much my body absorbs is not clear so seeing that you cannot OD on Vitamins my normal intake is 1000mgs per day but with flu symptoms it goes up to 2000mgs. The rest you just p1ss out. Only do this in order to gain maximum benifit of the vitamin.

vitamin C is cheap in any case especially if you get it in it's powder form so for around 60 bucks you can get a months supply so no real harm done to the bank balance in really loading up on the stuff.

Exactely....just like with any other multivit. If you've got a balanced diet and still use supplements you are pissing quite alot of money down the drain.
