A word of caution about Hoogekraal. It is a fantastic trail. But if you go down badly on the back, evacuation is very, very difficult with a lower limb injury or serious core, neck damage. I would ride what there is. Not try and revive something which has been left to overgrow for a reason.

I believe the hole was their when Bennet built the trail and he just er, uhm cashed in on it (don't know many who can jump it as it is monstrous)

Yeah, it is such a nice feature, pity it cant get a wooden bridge to fill the gap for safety aspects

Invest in some trail building tools, get in touch with the trail builders and get busy building. #justsaying

So who are the people who are building trails that can help me learn how - maybe like a course in it from some of the knowledgeable few like Meurant or the like ?
