Big H i had a rear tubby blow out on me before which had slime in....I know the mess it can make

dirtrider Posted May 8, 2008 Share BB how much bigger is the hole in your rim to the one in a normal car rim ?
NotSoBigBen Posted May 8, 2008 Share I scheme it can take car valve - I guess that's the better option, the BMX tjoop with the car valve that is?
NC_lurker Posted May 8, 2008 Share Lurker' date=' how long since your conversion and how much riding?[/quote'] Wheels were converted about a month ago.I've ridden every weekend since, probably about 5-6hrs per weekend. So hasn't had much use, but it's a good start. dirtrider Posted May 8, 2008 Share Then you can remove the core and you also have a valve that will not push or pull out
Guest Big H Posted May 8, 2008 Share Ben, did not read the whole post....... when you place the BMX tube, what happens to the old valve stem as well as the rubber reinforced area around the valve stem. What sealant do you use, do you use liquid latex or do you use Sludge? Will the Continental Gravity 26 x 2.3 tyres we use on the tandem work?????? NotSoBigBen Posted May 8, 2008 Share BigH - The stem stays as that is used to inflate the now converted wheel. I used Joe's. I don't see any reason why it won't work with your tyres!
Guest Big H Posted May 8, 2008 Share Ben do you use the whole bmx tyre or do you "slice" away the inner half. I am just a leetle confused as if you use the whole tube the airflow will be blocked by the inner half of the tube.
Guest Big H Posted May 8, 2008 Share Do you also still use rim tape??????

dirtrider Posted May 8, 2008 Share My insulation tape and tubeless valve is still sealing perfectly after 5 months . BB I am going to try the car valve tonight and see if I can get a proper fit . BigH it is always a good idea to use rim tape anyway .
