We will all hear this phrase again at the Cape Town Naked Bike race. Some guy out the saddle on this spez- "aaarg, it keeps whacking my inner thigh". Pure savage comes along "Nee man, sit hom mos daar oppi winky wonky" "hold my beer, kom ek jou wys"

Looks like Spez getting all aero with what could be the new version of the Venge. Cav' has been riding it at the Tour de Suisse (not that it's helped him to any wins there).

It took them close to 10 years to copy the aero shape from Cervelo

If you read carefully and look at the pictures you will see that I am referring to the Aero shape of the frame.

Nope, dont think so.

Many other frames seem way more like the new Spez Venge than the Cervelo one.

One must also remember that air resistance has fixed properties, so as people develop things they all have to deal with the same physics and the products then start looking alike, because they need to over come the same problems.

Just like F1, all different teams, different people all end up with a similar looking car, not because its copying, but because its the best/most efficient design.

They both have a frame and 2 wheels, what are the other similarities???

If you read carefully and look at the pictures you will see that I refer to the Aero shape of the frams.

Agree with you maybe I should change the "copy" to " Cervelo is 10 years ahead in their design"

Still don't see the similarities that warrant saying spez "copied".

The downtube is flat/aero on both I'll grant you that but from there EVERYTHING differs. The toptube, seattube profiles are worlds apart.

The fork is massively different,

The seatstays join to the seattube completely differently not to mention brake positioning.

Chainstays also differ to tuck the wheel in.

The only aero bit on the Cervelo is the downtube.

If by "copy" you mean both Cervelo and Spez have built a bicycle, then yes, I agree with you 100%.

P.S: I am not a Spez fan either...........
