Bianchi boet Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Hello Hubbers. I have 9 speed Shimano 105 STI shifters on my cyclocross project. I am planning to use a Tiagra long cage derailleur with my 9 speed XT Casette. I was wondering though, is there a XT or similar MTB rear derailleur that is compatible with the STI? Thanks
Pure Savage Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Think it will work, on the cyclocross page it was discussed. If it's 9 speed to 9 speed it should have the same pull ratio.
NotSoBigBen Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Yes as Savage says it does work, I am using a 9sp Tiagra shifter with an XT 9sp rear derailleur on my MonsterCross with no problems. I had a road RD but it got wrecked while out on a local trail ... changed to the XT and no issues since then.
javadude Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 9 speed is all interchangeable. I believe Shimano ruined things with the 10/11 speed MTB derailleurs not working with their road counterparts.
