Hardi Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 If you give Oval rings a change, and adapt to them, you won't go back to round. round feels like more effort. 34T Qring pedals really effortlessly. It works for me

I have much more traction and pedaling is just much less effort and climbs are easier. As your power delivery to the wheels are even out ("smoother"). You will definitely notice it on the slippery steep stuff!

Wear on rings are different however. The Oval ring wears more on 2 "dual sides" than all over. Basically just before the dead spot.

Steven Knoetze (sk27) Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 I ran 32T a Leo Daisy round, 1x10 and now run an Absolut black 32T NW Oval.It has transformed my riding! As mentioned traction is improved, but in my case it decreased lactic acid buildup which helped relieve my chronic. issue of cramping.

I'm looking at 34t but you don't have stock online in the AB. The Wolftooth says there is stock but I can't seem to chose it... Cheers
