Went out on the R27 towards Melkbos for a recovery ride and some coffee.

Just before Atlantic Beach Golf Estate I noticed some car tracks leaving the road and 20m further along there was a car lying in a ditch and the driver lying in the veld.Phoned the cops .

While waiting for the cops tried to flag down some cars, but nobody interested in stopping. All I wanted them to do was to signal the spot to the cops. The problem is what do you do with your cycling gear while you have to rush off into the bush to see if you can help? The guy fell asleep behind the wheel.According to the cops this is a regular thing.

Be careful on the R27 especially early morning when the party animals are going home

that's a tough one hey, concern for another human's life with the possibility that your attentions could save said life, versus the replaceable cycling gear.

flip, i'm stumped.

really .....the OP stopped to help (and did ) and voiced concern for his property and you are getting all sanctimonious about it .....

Given the situation of providing assistance to someone that just suffered an accident, i'm surprised this is a dilemma ene worthy of asking the internet for some advice on. It offsets the kind act somewhat IMHO, and worthy of some lighthearted derision. No need to get all uptight. the horse might not like it ;)

Dear Bernard, no where did you imply that you hesitated for one second to go help this guy but you did see the danger that your cycling gear/bike etc could get stolen while you made sure the accident victim got help, this is South Africa and thieves are known to go shopping at crash sites. We can appreciate your concern. Don't worry Capricorn is probably just a little constipated, he'll loosen up sooner or later.
