Cyclist knocked down at Woodbridge robots

At about 8.30 this morning a friend of mine was coming back from a walk on the beach when he saw a guy get knocked down at the robots .This Malawian guy had tried to cross while the right turning arrow was green and got taken out by a 4x4 turning onto Marine Dr.At the time my friend did not have his cell with him and experienced a lot of problems.

1.The 4x4 was trying to get away

2.The cyclists 2 phones were in pieces and after putting them together again, found the guy had no airtime.He also did not know his next of kin cell number.

3.A surfer stopped to help also had no phone.

4.No cars stopped to help and in fact my friend was dodging cars and busses forcing their way through.

5.Metro cops passing the scene also seemed unwilling to help.

6.The cyclist had no medical so had to be transferred to another ambulance.

7.A cyclist passing the scene just looked around and then cycled off without offering to help.

 

My visibly shaken friend came over to urge me to put all emergency numbers on the bike ,including my medical aid number.

My friend had to run over to the 4x4 to stop him from driving off,leaving the cyclist and then a bus narrowly missed the cyclist.

It's incredible isn't it, peoples ability to try and cover their ass or run and hide from the results of their actions never ceases to amaze me.

if this intersection was near any of the IRT bus terminuses, then maybe the terminus cameras picked up the incident?
