This was excellent! The 72K was demanding but it was everything I hoped for. I rode the entire distance including the waterfall. Only bit I got off was the two streams on Suurvlakte. Looking forward to next year.

See the results on racetec that only two guys completed the race. Something wrong there as the time is over 10 hours.... Can you please follow up..

We missed out due to work , but we do ride those roads nearly every weekend as it is our training ground. Perhaps next year!

Where can permits be obtained to ride this route ?

I'm also confused. Racetec usually have results up within 12hrs of event. However, for this event, still nothing.

Does any1 know what the total acsent was for the 75 and 50km?

Hi there

Kluitjieskraal forestry is no longer so the Kluitjieskraal route is open as far as I know. The rest of the trails are on private farmland where we use good judgement and respect the landowner

They are all use to seeing mtbs passing on weekends and we stop whenever we spot one to chat and confirm permission.

Hope it helps

Pity its a PPA race, would have done it if It wasn't for their crap seeding system! Got no problem with seeding for bigger events, but all non PPA events of this size have a mass start which works perfectly!

As a non PPA rider you already pay a bit more for entry fee, which is fine, but to pay more and then have to start right at the back is crap...so I refuse to ride as long as they stick to that...

Hope this events survive till that day...

PPA have their faults, but seeding is not one of them. The seeding is spot on. My biggest issue with PPA is the race calendar. It gets samller and smaller every year, to the point where starting at the BACK is no longer a issue.

Even if you join PPA and never take advantage of the cheaper entry fee or seeding, your money is put to good use. The projects they are committed to is simple put priceless. In other words, the few rand you spend on PPA membership does a lot more good than the tax you pay every year.

Apologies, in principle I don't have a problem with the PPA, I've been a member for 4 years before this year. Just not racing enough at the moment to join. Still doing the odd race...due to the seeding I rather do non PPA races.

Unfortunately there's a lot of riders feeling like this, so in the end I think the seeding system do this small events more harm than good.

To people like me who do a lot of their rides the seeding system works well. If you do many of their rides then makes sense to join. If not, well then you won't be bothered where you start. It is very cheap to join anyway.
