Anybody experience this and what did you do?

Three weeks ago I had Shingles and took the antivirals. Laid up for a week and felt terrible. I then went on a tour and after the second day I had to give up (first time I have given up) Felt weak on the first day but the second day it all fell apart after six hours. Could not go on.

How long did this fatigue last with you?

Terrible having to make the call and spit the dummy.

I got it in the month before IM last year, l also felt very tired and initially thought it was just the training load (maybe it was who knows....) then i started getting the rash and horrible nerve pains which made me go to my GP who diagnosed shingles and gave me medication for it.

Once the nerve pain started to subside I started training albeit it at a reduced level and felt just fine. My GP advised me against doing IM but as I felt normal when training I went ahead and felt ok.

I'm not sure how long it took before I felt normal again from the time I started the meds I guestimate about 8 - 10 days.

Good luck

Rather make sure you are 100% ok before pushing on, your health is more important and there will be more tours

Maybe I was lucky, the biggest issue I had was stabbing like pains on my right side and a rash in the same place more or less where my heart strap went...it was like someone had a voodoo doll of me and was sticking needles into it.

Other than fatigue how did it affect you?

Pain all over the lower part of the body.  As if somebody was using me as an ironing board.  It would subside and come back again.  There was continual numbness over my body but then the hot iron would come out again.

I have had my hip re-built and the shingles pain was worse.
