Hello Jaco fiets

Dirtopia's only involvement is online entries and timing of the 60km race for us. Pieter du Plessis from Iquela events is marking the route. And our entry fee is not higher than PPA events. It is a superb route and most of it not normally open to the public, so we sorry to hear you will be missing it !! Happy cycling

Thanks for clearing this up. Will be there on Saturday then!!

First time riding Oak Valley, very nice terrain.

The last 20km through Grabouw CC not my favorite.

Event was well organized, route marking excellent and one of the first events where the shorter route riders were almost hard to spot even though they were on the long route at several points.

The only crit for me is that there weren't enough drinks points.

Excellent race good training for W2W.

Have to agree, first water point was only at 32km for a 60km route. Long stretch especially as it was really hot.

Otherwise good ride, Oakvalley has sublime single track. Grabouw is tough, also not my favourite, suffered a bit on the A2Z trails in the sun haha

Was there any specific reason why this year there were no prizegiving or prizes? not even a bottle of wine. If memory serves me correctly, all previous editions of the race had something in that sense. Cant say anything bad about the route! definitely the highlight of my year in terms of MTB races

What did you not enjoy about Grabouw??? THose trails are AWESOME!! I enjoyed every bit of the race, best 60k route by far. I really dont understand what you cannot enjoy about the country club trails??

From the Avatar, Kom obviously prefers the thin wheeled bikes.

IMO Grabouw has arguably the finest trails in the Cape!
