  1. Im just here for the comments...
  2. compared to 2 years ago, last years route really sucked, you do that terrible neverending rock/sand section to start off with then only do a little bit of the fun at banhoek and then you have to climb up those steep climbs to hellsend, not even gonna mention the last 10km
  3. Another little technical point that winelands mixed exploited this year was to leave the chicks with another team to slip then the fast guys race up the road and stop the clock with 6 guys. Theres no "half way" rule, only 6 people have to pass the line. so next year you can go full speed from the gun with all the guys, leave the women to cruise to halfway and then chase to the finish with way fresher legs and not pushing anyone in the first half.
  4. So, lets just remember one thing from the gun, if there is possibly something that can be stuffed up, the PPA will stuff it up big time! I have never liked their organisation of events or the way they approach it and implement it. Oh, they even managed to direct traffic so that someone got hit by a taxi/car! I am not one of those "green" okes but ive now got 4 temp blue boards and 10 of those rubbery mounts lying at home, it is really wasteful, I def do not agree with that system of theirs. The race was fine but the marshals at the start was super irritating as usual and the motorbikes were really really irritating during the race and interfered.
  5. Where did you buy it from? I saw it their website but like I understand it, you need a retailer to buy it from.
  6. So to hot melt wax a chain, to start off with, the chain needs to be cleaner than clean. how do you get it that clean if you dont have an ultrasonic bath?
  7. found some of that neoprene patches at cape union mart, fixed my bibshorts and armwarmers. just make sure the iron is really hot (a bit hotter than what they recommend) and you should be good to go. if you wanna go the long way try the replacement process
  8. I can back edereese up on his claims and workmanship, he is skilled to fix most cycling electronic devices, together we have fixed e-bike battery and issues, repaired DI2 and Campy EPS wiring systems, fixed several garmins and wahoo computers. I would have no worries in giving him the KICKR to try and repair. sounds like a straight forward job.
  9. I did the race last year, there was ZERO timing, ZERO poduim or any prizegiving, we got a burger included. but the marking of the trail was so bad everyone ended up somewhere else in the mountain and getting lost. ill never do that race again. otherwise rock up a tad later pay the 250 and still go ride the race route, lol
  10. Yesterday upon leaving the venue I reversed into another car, Nissan micra or such, It was pouring with raining and I didnt have anything to write with or on, please help me find the owner or if it was you please contact me. I want to sort out the damage.
  11. Boring negative racing as usual in the $ group, funriders must get some! Now no one gets a good seeding because A group did a waaaay better time. Those complaining that it was a zone one ride or easy should have gone and made it a race then.
  12. Looking to downscale my setup, currently running a casadio enea grinder but that is a bit of an overkill and it is bulky in size too. its actually a commercial/coffee shop type grinder. If anyone is interested you can contact me for info and prices
  13. I geuss we can go back and forth with this all day, referring specifically to sani2c, I did the event and there were a couple of ebikes in our group, not at any point did they interfere with my race, some of them passed me on the uphills and I never saw them again. we also rode with another team where the one teammate was on an ebike and we enjoyed it, that person wouldnt have riddent there usually but it was nice riding with them and they didnt keep anyone up on any of the sections. really didnt bother me. just dont go bragging at how good you rode and how well you did but then you are riding an ebike
  14. In may there are loads of races, atlantis, slanghoek, paardeberg etc. even a 250km one at piketberg if you are feeling brave
  15. been using squirt sealant for probably 4 years now, 2 mtb's and one road bike tubeless. Cant say that I ever had a serious issue. as long as you are topped up it works like a charm. Like the new design, should make things even easier.
  16. Ive heard that so many times, but now you made me want a pourover mcguyver!!! im sold
  17. am I the only one feeling like they completely missed the entire point with these "rollers" you can just as well buy the snap because it is cheaper and gives power. Your front wheel is still stuck in one place and the whole idea of traditional rollers is that you balance and use your core etc. If im missing the point then please inform me
  18. nah I think its just how their trackers update
  19. another shared win this year ????????‍♂️
  20. Agree, finer grind, and 16g dose, if you overdose you can damage the group head when the coffee expands, ive learnt the hard way. Tamp moderate to hard but in such a way that you can do it the same every time for consistency. another tip is to run half a cup of water through the group head or steamer, as hot water, just to make sure that the boiler is heating again and at the right temperature, since it doesnt have PID it would have quite a range of temperature where it switches on or off. I really found this to work when dialing in the shot. good luck
  21. yes please do share, im seriously considering getting this, wife has been moaning about the size of the casadio so this thingy is amazing and right size too
