65-70km MTB Training Ride in Pretoria East

Hi hubbers, anyone interested in joining Polkie and myself for a training ride:

Time: 630am

Place: Meet at Woodlands or abouts

Reason: Karkloof Training

okay thats cool.... this one is mainly to gauge how far we are with training......i ahve ben pretty sick for the last month and have obviously not been training....due to the illness.... so now i have decided to use that as a gauge as to whether I am close to riding the race or not

Woodlands Boulevard near the PTA East Hospital..... usually a place to park and we ride from there..... i live just up the road....yeah 630 should be lightish.... we be ok....  You in??

Dirt, there are some nice tracks on Klapperkop, but a bit overgrown as few Mtbers go there now.  THe pipes to the water towers are complete on the south side and almost complete on the north face.  THe track down along the golf course fence is reasonable, and the linking single track from where the pipes were laid to the foot of the road of Nelson Mandela is overgrown in one place.  On the north side there is a single track along the fence on Nelson MAndela, there is a good jeap track in the "reserve" but a bit overgrown, and the single track at the radio tower is useable.

 

Dragson and myself were there last saterday.

Sounds very nice . Last time I went there it was more like a DH course . Could be because we did it at night .

Klapperkop at night is a bit overgrown at the moment.  You will probably get lost.

Erm go around 11ish on sat mornings, couple of guys there riding the DH course.
