Same saddle change before race

So I bought a new saddle, same make and width but just with carbon rails. My current saddle started to hurt me about a month ago.

Would you recommend changing the saddle and take it for a 45km test ride tomorrow then the race for victory or suffer in silence until Monday?

First question - do you have the correct seat clamp for the carbon rails? They are usually oval and not round.

Second question - if the saddle hurts you, why did you buy exactly the same brand?

Saddles are something very personal. Believe me i know. I had to go through a few before finding the right 1.

* Did you do a bike fit?

If not I recommend you do this before purchasing a new saddle.

Spine flexability, sit bone width must all be taken into a account on choosing the right saddle.

* Get a test saddle.

That's the best way of finding the right saddle for you.

Take it for a ride for the week.

My current clamp is cirrect.

The saddle served me well for 2 years. All the other saddles don't last more then 6 months.

Wow,

I must say I must be really lucky then, I change saddles when I buy a new bike( so use the one that comes with the bike)

Except for that I replaced one saddle two years ago as the saddle broke in half when I had a fall.

Otherwise I never had issues, Done double century a few times , so it is not that I do not spend time in the saddle.

Do it!

It's the only way to find out if it works.

What else you going to do?  Wait for Monday and ride a few KM's and try to decide.  Fit it, ride it hard and you will know one way or the other.
