Amashova Breakfast Issue

Hello fellow cyclists

I'm currently in a confused state as to how to tackle my breakfast on the morning of the Amashova.

1. I'm used to having future life, a banana and a cup of coffee 40 mins before I do my local ride.

2. The issue that arises on the Amashova race day is that I'll wake up @ 4:00am, do I eat some protein like boiled eggs have a cup of coffee, travel to PMB, take my future life, a banana and a coffee with me and eat 40 mins before I ride??

3. I have a formula that I'm used to and this is a change.

4. Am I thinking too much in to this?

Some advice would be appreciated

Thanks

On race day you should eat at least 2 hours before you start. This will give your body the best energy levels for a race and also helps with any nausea issues if you get those with race nerves. I personally would add a egg to your future life and banana. But only if you are comfy riding on a egg as it does give you really good sustainable energy. Don't change to much else to your morning meal other than eating it 2 hours before .

The most important eating period is 18-24 hours before your race as this is when the body can create good glycogen stores so eat good carbs and drink plenty of water.

Most often that/those little voice/s in your head actually knows/know what's best...

Those voices in my head are having a conversation right now :P
