I still ride over it, and F&^K them if they try and stop me. I can only imagine it has something to do with the area now formally being a construction site. They have safety standards to maintain.

Snow Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 I though it was closer to R23m - even more pain.I am a paddler so here is some heresay.Evidently the dam wall was not compacted very well, necessitating the extent of work. At the western end near the botanical gardens, you may recall that it was often slushy after just a bit of rain - the wall was leaking there ...Also a gas main under the road is inhibiting their work (they evidently weren't aware of it beforehand).Initially they were going to drop the level of the dam by 1.7m; to date it has been far less so we canoeists are happy.
