lerouc Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 How safe are these to ride solo? I like early morning solo rides and haven't yet ventured out onto these. I stay a single km from here, so it's a shame - time to get on those!I road the wannabees trails this morning at 5h30 solo (I dont stay a single km away, i stay on the trail ), saw quite a few other guys on the trails as well, so maybe not that solo. There are a few "hotspot" areas (marked with hotspot signs) which i would avoid doing solo (actually would avoid in small groups as well) but otherwise there has been no issues early mornings that i know off.

A few of us from Durbanville are planning to ride all the trails west of the R44 on Saturday, starting at Somerbosch. I have studied the map on the Wannabees website fairly closely but didn't see mention of any hotspots.

Vaalkol, as jy na die roetes op die website kyk: (weste kant)http://wannabteam.com/cycling-routes/ Die blou loop is by die waterwerke waar daar n paar insidente in die omgewing was. (n paar was nie op die trails nie maar op die teer pad oppad na waterwerke) maar daardie loop sou ek se bly weg behalwe as julle n groep van meer as 3 is. Daar was al twee ouens ge"nader" (en dis nie jou avg 50kg fietsryer nie) wat saam gery het so wees maar meer as jy soontoe gaan. Die meeste het op die boonste punt gebeur. Daar waar die emergency entry point is tot by deons downhill. die onderste loop kan jul eintlik maar doen, maar ja ry op eie risiko en wees net bedag van wat om julle aangaan.
