We are so fortunate to live here and been able to ride in such a beautiful area!!

These photos are nothing special and were taken with my phone…mostly that we can again see how lucky we are to be able to live and ride here.

I only did a small section of the Wannabees Club trails….

Agreed. Something for everyone. Whether you enjoy gentle rides with the family or going hell for leather downhill.

More than enough to get my blood pumping

Check on the Wannabee website where you can get the permit and also, check the routes, theres plenty, one can ride close to 100km if you link everything up.

Club rides start Saturday and Sundays from the Lord Charles Hotel at 6 in the morning now for Summer.

the rides from lord charles also gets divided (usually by people on the day as it is not a formal thing) into those who are not fit, semi fit, and superfit, with skill, no skill, want to learn (so they do a few things over and over and over till everyone feels comfy.

How safe are these to ride solo?  I like early morning solo rides and haven't yet ventured out onto these.  I stay a single km from here, so it's a shame - time to get on those!

Hey Nox

I ride Helderberg farm about 3 times a week, mostly by myself, and have had zero times where I felt the least bit unsafe.

As Amberdrake said it's up and then more up but the down is well worth it!

I've ridden Helderberg farm a couple of times - I'm thinking more along the lines of other routes that I have not yet ridden. where you can do some distance, with very little tar roads, and preferably some lekker trails along the way.

As far as I know Wannabee trails are safe. The only other place to ride is new Knorhoek fenced bike park but i have never ridden that. Other trails are further out and don't strictly qualify as local to Somerset West
