Hey Guys

Just interested to hear, what recovery drinks if any do you tri-guys/girls use post workout and post race?

I've tried Cipla Post workout which is pretty good ( thought he lemon one is pretty hectic to get down) and I've done the chocolate milk thing which I'm still not completely convinced so giving it another week or two to test.

What else has everyone tried that works well specifically for endurance athletes?

Real food. Don't let marketing hype get your cash in their pocket. Chocolate milk works well as it has both carbs to replaced used glycogen and a bit of protein. I tasted that cipla recovery and thought it tasted a bit like what I imagine used bib shorts would taste like. Try carbing asap after training and then get some decent protein inside of 40 min.

I bought a sixer of sterie stumpie for this week.  When I cracked my first one this morning I realised it was coffee flavour "blugh" have to power through this pack. Stupid brown packaging, why cant coffee pick another colour.

I battle to eat after training that's why I like recovery shakes but I should try force myself to get some good food in and try get over that.

Why would tri guys/girls need something different to any other athletes? Like say a cyclist?

Do cyclists train 9 times a week?  I get both are endurance athletes but tri train often twice a day so recovery is maybe a little different? I don't know this is why I'm asking around.

I train 2-3 times a day wich is a bit hectic but all I use is a good energy drink during practice and follow a healthy diet and drink lots of water throughout the rest of the day, that usually does it for me....

But after an intense race I would opt for High 5 protein shake mixed with Chocolate Sterri-Stumpi instead of normal milk (this shake help me recover in jo time)

I think you'd be surprised how many cyclist cross train in the afternoons.
