Mine isn't the Protection model but I don't think I'll buy Continental mtb tyres again. My Maxxis Ardent front tyre which I've had on the bike for much longer is basically bombproof as were the Bontragers that came standard on the bike. The Continental sidewall feels flimsy

I still have a conti on the front (2.4 x-king protection).  Tossed the rear and replaced it with a Spez Ground Control GRID, which weighs a kilogram but is indestructible.

.

I literally rode that rear conti for 25minutes before killing it.

i will never buy another Conti tyre again. I had 2 die on me, the bead stretched on both.

Ok thanks, I'll try it without the stitching, what you said makes sense. And you figure I can use the tyre tubeless?

Im using mine tubeless. Ita got a gator and three plugs in it. Still works perfectly

There are vendors that repair motor car tyres, ask around. I reckon one of their repairs would really be bullet proof, they can heat cure the patch and also use a bit of pressure. It would never come off.
