Upgrade Fox evolution with fit4

how do you mean, look at the shock? If you're talking about setting it up for your riding style, weight and so on, then yes you need to once it's been upgraded. But that's just a case of setting the sag correctly and then checkinig the recommended settings at that pressure. Then playing around with it a bit...

Sorry, it shows how dumb I am when it comes to mechanics. What I should have said is there a rear shock upgrade to match the front fork or would I just get it serviced at the time of the upgrade?

thanks.

Interesting, I have this fork on my 2013 Scott genius- "Fox 34 Talas 650B Factory CTD FIT Air CTD Remote Damper with 3 Modes"

The bike climbs terribly and the lockout thing does nothing but having never ridden any other 150 mm suspension fork I can't say I feel like I am missing anything. Am I missing something?  Its due for a service would this be worthwhile on this fork?

That TALAS is a bit of a dog. Bring it in and I'll have a look at it, once I've seen what's what we can discuss some options.

one thing i am certain of is that when i next look at purchasing a new bike i will be checking the forums about every working part on the bike and making wiser decisions for sure.

I did the conversion to the 2014 fox ctd that came with my anthem advanced. Cost me 3800. The best money I have spent on suspension

Ohhhh sounds like you have the same Anthem as I,  please do tell more. My ignorant brain has just heard / learnt about this upgrade of amazement!

haha you need to read the whole thread ... Upgrade the fork to a FIT4 cartridge for round about R3500 - R4000, and its then a MUCH better fork in every way.

Its the same upgrade for any 2013/2014 FOX evo or performance fork.

Lol, thanks, was trying to say that I have the same fork on the same bike. ;)

Where does one do the upgrade? LBS or straight to FOX??

Ok cool ... recommendations have been made on guys who can do it in JHB area and in CPT. David Marshall or summit cycles (Midrand) in JHB. I guess they get the cartridge and install it.

Or you can send it to omnico in cape town or Johannesburg

better to get your local LBS or Shock expert to do it as they can do it same day when they have the part. If you sent it to Omnico you would be without a bike for a while

Seems in the US Fox were offering discounts to customers upgrading from OCD dampers to FIT dampers. Are the any deals like this available in ZA?

OCD? More like Tourette's.

No trade in that I'm aware of, no...
