Tygerberg nature reserve are opening their trails for a social ride on Saturday 12 December from 7-9am. Only 200 tickets are available at R50 each on www.tygerbergmtb.co.za (no tickets available on the day).

 

The route has some technical downhills and challenging climbs but you will be rewarded with wildlife and some of the best views this side of the boerewors curtain.

 

You can ride the marked out route as many times as you would like and bring your family along for a picnic in the picnic area

 

To get to the nature reserve, take Jip de Jager road and then follow the brown signs to the reserve from Kommissaris street.

well we've managed to avoid that nasty dirt road hill back to the mast but there is still that very gnarly descent down the plattekloof side of the hill which would definitely be more fun with more travel :-) It's also no race so what if you stop to admire the views on the uphills :-)

Easy - Having fun down always trumps going up fast, unless you're racing the wildlife or something

I love that descent on the Plattekloof side. Trail bike it will definitely be then. I'm also glad we don't have to start at Bloemendal this time.
