Careful with shoes. There's more to it than stiffness. Perhaps mention some brands that fit you well? The Italian brands squish my feet, I often find, while Shimano and Specialised S-works feel a bit wider in the front.

I'm a novice though so don't take my word as bond.

This thread has got me thinking...hippo...uber...come to mind...2016 i need to get smart...as i do for my customers...instead of having an account with 1 wholesaler and paying whatever they charge...my customers benefit from the lowest price...cash is king.

The 1 day sales i can get a good idea of what the customers are looking for...

I am glad to see there have no responses to this thread...no pms...here is a sale waiting to happen...if i had an online sales hub/call centre...i would have already had 5 quotes from different suppliers and sent the customer a quote.

Once you change the attitude that you are doing the customer a favour...it is amazing how things change.

Looking at the cycling industry...it is like security in this country...everybody "needs" it...or a better example...generators...if you werent making millions during the load shedding...you missed out.

Someone mentioned grey imports...it makes you wonder how genuine yours really are...grey stuff is so well made and packaged how would you know the difference?

I purchased a lifeproof cover for my iphone from a well know online company...took my R12000 phone put it in the sink under water to test for an hour...then made a call...the key pad was none responsive...i sent an email to lifeproof direct...they asked me to send a pic of the box it came in with the serial number...the only way they could tell it wasnt a genuine one was by the serial number...the company refunded my money...so the question is how do you know the products you are purchasing are the real thing?

Instead of running down the retailers, why don't you look in the mirror first?

What makes you think that your thread topic indicates that you are looking for a set of pedals?

Do you think that all retailers have the time to sit and read every post, or do you think that they should guess what you are going to ask for ?

Do you not think that a topic heading along the lines of "calling all on-line retailers: sell me some road bike pedals" may have had a better response ?

People seem very confused by the term "grey" . Grey items are not fake at all they have just been directly imported into the country without going through the South African dealer. Fake items are fake items, nothing grey about them.

Interesting response...so you saying i can buy a grey shimano product with the same spec or out the same factory...just bought directly and not via the uk...usa etc with the hectic exchange rate?

No. When I lived in the UK you could buy grey Sony TVs. These were typically sourced from countries where they were cheaper for whatever reason, lower import tax as an example, maybe smuggled over the border, and sold on to clients, often under the guise of being completely legit.

These typically didn't have any local support or warranty.

As mentioned before, an item is classified as grey if it didnt come through the official importer for the country. They are all manufactured in the same place and the manufacturer does not sell directly to the public.

The item might be cheaper in another country so if you purchase from that country and bring it in yourself then it gets classified as grey.

So you have to ask yourself the question...if we are getting so butt ..........by the exchange rate and some as the rand looses value...why are we not importing from countries with a lower exchange rate? maybe a really dumb question... importing from a country with a high exchange rate is really dumb

back in the day before google...you were pretty restricted...with the internet the world has become a small place...and everything comes from china anyway.

i purchase d a fluke tester a couple years ago...got caught with the whole warranty backup service bull****...i could have gone on holiday to the USA for 2 weeks ...purchased the tester and done a weeks training and still come back to Sa with money in my pocket...when the test had to get calibrated they couldnt do it here in SA anyway...so calibration cost included the courier to europe and back plus a little something for the SA agent...i am getting smart as i age (or just tired of getting screwed)
