Aluminium or brass for a Marathon/cross country type wheel set?

I'm going to order a new wheel set but want to go slightly more reliable.

I recon go for the brass as they are more reliable than aluminium. My current wheels have aluminium but the nipples seem to start breaking after a year of riding.

They slight weight saving is only for the top riders where it would make a difference.

Definitely brass!! Alu has a bad habit of stripping and breaking, especially when things go a bit funny in a turn, off a drop etc!

I don't know these but looks like a good idea:

I only use Pillar double butted spokes, Pillar taper grip nipples (black or silver) and spoke head washers (on hub flanges). Have not had any come-backs or wheel failures.
