Cadence for Polar M400

Hi All

Newbie here. Apologies if this has been asked before, but couldn't find anything.

I've had a Polar M400 long before I took up cycling. It does most things I want for cycling very well.

The one thing missing is a way to measure cadence. I'm trying to avoid buying another device just for that. Now, I've seen that the M400 supports the Bluetooth Smart Stride Sensor from Polar, which can do all sorts of wonderful things for runners and indoor training, including cadence.

My question is: Does anyone here use the M400 with the stride sensor on a bike? Does it work well for measuring cadence? Or is the cadence feature for running only?

Your insights and experience are much appreciated.

Thanks a ton!

The stride sensor measures your footfalls. Would not be possible to generate Cadence from this.

Seems like you'll have to buy new device, but I'd look at some cheap computer, that provides only speed and cadence.

The bluetooth cadence sensor works exceptionally well.....it is very accuerate and on the plus side you don't need to lose a treadmill run because you can't get GPS signal....aaaaand you are in one spot....the unit also "auto calibrates" to your style and stride....you wll get lots of useful info such as....cadence min/max and stride length...s solid investment for what is already and exceptional unit....

Sounds like he is asking whether a cycling specific cadence sensor is available for his watch

He says the M 400 does most things for cycling well.....but yes this unit won't do cycling cadence

Yes, unfortunately the M400 only pairs with the H7 HRM and the stride sensor, not any speed or cadence specific sensors.

According to the website, the stride sensor can do cadence, but I suspect only for running, not cycling. :(

Finding a "cheap" computer that can do cadence is not that easy...
