I want to waterproof my the battery of my riding light.

Would it be Ok to dip it into this stuff

 

Any advice would be appreciated.

Rather use heat shrink. It's probably cheaper and certainly much easier to use.

Remember the battery heats up as you use or charge it. By dipping it in plastic coating you are effectively preventing the heat to escape.

 

If you are concerned about water on the trial I would rather try and adapt a plastic container to temporarily encapsulate the battery. Can then remove it while charging.
