Whats the WORST bike you've ever actually owned and ridden??

Dude, I loved this thing. Road the *** out of it. Frame eventually broke. If it wasn't for that I'd probably still have it...

I agree it was a really fun bike but being 8 years old it weighed the same as me. So really difficult to ride long distances or uphill. It also prevented me from acquiring a BMX (which were launched the year after). To this day I still haven't owned one...

This piece of shyte. Worst of all, I started on the road with it.

Gave it to one of my workers a few years back (it was gathering dust and cobwebs in the garden shed) He is still riding it to this date.

That's actually quite a good testament to the quality of the machine if your worker is still riding it all these years later.

my favourite Raleigh makro bike was the one with square tubing. Oddly enough, there's quite a bit of heritage in the M-Trax name - used to be their top of the range when Tomac was winning everything on Raleighs - but probike really used it like a piece of bogroll locally.

That exact same yellow bucket of nails is what I was referring to! Looked so cool at the time, until you rode the thing! They lasted forever though! I gave mine to a mate about 8 years ago, and it was stolen out of his shed. Probably still cruising around somewhere.

Going through these posts makes me think that most of you used the "she climbs like a beast" or "great bike for beginners" when selling them  :whistling:

A Dun(F)lop dual sussie a-la Game/Makro. It was handed down to me three years ago by my cousin, who said I could have it for free, just so that she never has to sit on a bike again....That bike saw many miles around Koeberg until I took it up Hillcrest once and killed it on the descent from the top ST.

That bike was a love/hate relationship, and on the ascent up Hillcrest that fateful day I was cursing my cousin for ever giving me this wretched piece of crap bike, and I vowed to leave it lying beside the trail and walk home, but seeing as by that stage I was almost at the top, I reckoned I might as well carry on and ride down before dumping the bike and ending my cycle-life before it got started.

That descent was pure heaven, even on that tank of a bike, and by the time I reached the bottom the crank was bust and the frame was slightly off-centre. But I had the biggest smile on my face a realised that MTB is about the descent for me at least. The very next week I bought my Bergamont HT and have had around 4500km of absolute bliss on the new bike.

I am now on the verge of upgrading to my first proper full-sus, the Spez Camber Comp.

I think I had that exact one too. POS!!

I rode it like I had stolen it though.

I kept on hoping someone would steal mine, but it was so crap, thieves would take the lock and leave the bike...

I did more than 10 000kms on mine in a year - on road though. It barely saw any offroad action. The only thing which stuffed out was the BB before I sold it.

I actually raced it at the 40km EP Herald road race in '94 and placed in the top 10. Damn that 48 x 12 ratio meant I couldn't keep up in the tailwind sprint along Marine Drive. Those bullhorn bars made the roadies give me tons of space in the bunch.
