I'd hope for an afternoon shower later. That ST is awesome just after the rain.

My race bike hasn't been ridden since mabalingwe lionman, It was obviously washed after that race but now its a bit dusty, I was going to give it a rinse down but with the mud I suspect we will encounter tomorrow I will leave her a little bit dusty.

So much complaining so early in the year............

If it really bothers you so much that you did not receive a goody bag full of crap that you usually toss away then please feel free to send the organizers an email and state your dissatisfaction. I'm sure they will be willing to add more crap to the bag for a small increase in entry fee.

As for the seeding, yes that is perhaps a bit disappointing but 99% of the riders pitch up way before the first batch starts anyway and you should know more or less in what batch you will start, I mean take your last seeding and you will either be in the same batch or one higher/lower.

So if you really feel so strongly about your case to come and complain on social media rather take the matter up with the organizers because I'm sure their not reading the messages here.

Here's their contact email: info@velocourse.co.za

Well, I am really not phased at all regarding the race pack, but the organisation in terms of sending an email is just professional courtesy I expect from a race organiser. And further to that, if I feel it is something I want to raise I am free to do so on any platform I wish.

No complaining from me because this year I vote with my wallet. Tired of spending money on USN races where the event is sub standard in my mind. I'm choosing to do the smaller races. Hey cost the same and are mostly run with passion.

For those racing tomorrow. Hope the track is good and bottlenecks few. Have a splendid morning out on your bike.

Nice day out, particularly enjoyed riding the river section the opposite direction. Perfect conditions.

Only logged 45km

Some guy in B Batch burst his tyre just before the downhill at the start - tough luck dude.

Edit: Thanks to Concept Cyclery Melrose Arch for my entry!

Was a tough ride in B batch. We(the front 6/7 guys) started catching A batch guys from about 10km and with all the single track it just slowed us right down. I spent most of the ride trying to pass them alongside a guy with a rigid single speed also from B batch. I'm one that thinks the seeding is done pretty well but somehow you still seem to get guys in A batch that really are not A batch riders. I used to ride A batch 2 years ago when I did all the mtb races but now that I'm focusing on road my seeding has dropped and it is what it is so I don't try "organise" an A batch start but I just would love to know how these guys get it right. You can't have that many guys having bad days.

Anyway it was a real tough course and luckily very little mud.
