Yes it's an awesome upgrade kit. Think I'll get one for myself to fit on my old bike. No harm in having two 11s bikes.

Only bikes left 10 will be the campy bike

I assume it is necessary to accommodate chain growth too when determining chain length or is it bike dependent?

If you use the method I described it will accommodate chain growth.

Hi Myles,

Its this little part here: https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/173401-sram-11-speed-shifter-upgrade/

And the kit: https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/173402-rapid%C3%A9-sram-11-speed-upgrade-kit/

One of the pics shows the basic install steps.

Very cool. Been racing/training on mine for 6 months now (converted from X9 2x10 shifter and rear derailleur).

Mine ordered for delivery tomorrow [emoji51] did the 1x portion today so just the 11sp to do. Can't wait!

Needed to replace my cassette, chain and the 2x10 Rotor oval blades anyway ..... Cost a 'little' less this way and I get 11sp bonus.

Sorry to hijack this thread but some critique on this chain length and B-screw setup would be appreciated. YES YES I have done it, will start a thread on the whole process. First ride tomorrow AM  - just as a matter of interest that's the length of the chain as it comes from Rapide, I have not taken anything off ...

Looks okay. Hardtail? If so, you could remove one link to make the wrap a bit better in the higher gears, and not worry about chain growth due to suspension travel.

If full suss, see if the chain grows when cycling through the suspension, and then if it doesn't extend soooo far, you should be able to take a link out without a problem.

Thanks guys, B-Screw OK?

yes, it should be. As Myles says if it starts grinding screw it in so the derailleur threads toward the head of the screw. that will give it more space.  If you have to screw it in so far that the grinding only stops when the derailleur is at the screw head, add another link and start to turn the screw out again so the derailleur heads back down the thread till its happy through the full range of suspension travel
