My 10 c worth -  I was in Switzerland with the S.A. National disabled squad as a tandem pilot. We were out on a training ride when I commented to my (blind) stoker - there is oncoming. but no following traffic. To which he replied - "there are cars behind us, I can hear them" I looked around and saw a line of at least 15 cars waiting paintiently to go past. No hooting or aggression, and we weren't any where near the middle of the road (being from S.A.) - What a pleasure, when the road opened up I gave the opened handed salute for thanks and many said that a response was not needed. This is what we need in S.A. respect  for all on the roads

Now.... had that bunch that slowed you down for around 3 mins out of your whole day could have been either a: a horse drawn cart' date=' b: a grader or likes, you would have been happy to sit behind it??? I think so.

You are obviously a cyclist, and these guys must have know what they were doing....  I am certainly not a cyclist, but a 'fun rider' and hope that you did not 'bollock' on them.......

3 Minutes... shame on you.

Well replied Naas.

Thats a poor argument pedal, a grader and a horse drawn cart "HAVE  NO OPTIONS - THEY ARE SLOW BY NATURE, TAKE UP A HUGE PORTION OF THE ROAD AND HAVE NOWHERE ELSE TO RIDE" - a cyclist on the other hand "HAS OPTIONS", they can ride single file on the left and allow cars to pass - riding in the middle of the road is plain selfish and confrontational - the TIME is an irrelevant matter, its the "ATTITUDE" behind the time.!!

.............I cant quite figure out what differance it makes as to the level of cyclist you happen to be.!

..........Hmmm,I can understand you want to raise the issue, and fair enough, its topical, but I dont think we are going to break any new ground here.!

"Majority rules" - and as far as I know there are at least 30x more cars than bikes on the road, if you want to behave like an idiot, make sure your insurance policy is up to date so your wife and kids dont starve, and dont expect me to attend your Memorial ride.!

I had an interesting incident over the weekend, was almost wiped out on the road while minding my own business on my bicycle...

Hi whoever you are!<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I would like to request that you not make or broadcast assumptions regarding CycleLab Supercycling club PE as a whole, on the actions of one member. It would be the same as if you were to see a policeman steal something and then assume that all police people are thieves.

The CycleLab Supercycling club only has organized club rides on a Sunday and I assure you that during this ride all the riders in the bunch abide by the rules of the road. It is out of our control if a member is doing something wrong outside of our organized rides. You should have taken the matter up with the rider them self at the moment of indiscretion.

If you have the name of the person you saw you can email me on clubpe@cyclelab.com and I will have a chat to them regarding their behavior.

If you read my post I also said that before naming and shaming, rather  speak the club in question and sort it out that  way.  I know how  Andrew feels about people dissing his club and shaming it.  That's why I said rather speak to the club and sort it out.

I think it is time we started naming and shaming the clubs and getting club management involved with rogue riders.

My mistake guys. This happened on Monday morning and not Sunday, so this was not a SuperCycling ride as such, even though there were members present, as there were from other clubs.
