Winter is upon us and I was wondering when can one cycle with a cold?Confused  I read the rule of thumb is when it is in your head and throat it?s OK but not when it ?s in your chest it?s a no no.  The thing is, it nearly always reaches you chest.Cry

yea thats true!! i think when the flu virus goes below the head it can affect your muscles, and your heart is a muscle, so it can strain the heart, which can cause a heart attack and death. smiley5.gif

I dont get it, why the hell do people ride when they are sick, if you are sick your body is run down and you cant ride propertly anyway.

If you are tempted to ride sick, just speak to anyone who cant exercise again because they have stuffed up their heart, do you realy want to affect your quality of life, for the rest of your life, for the sake of a three hour ride?

That above the neck stuff is also playing with fire, if you are at all sick, best not to ride, you will probably benefit more from the rest anyway.

I made that mistake once..... Was sick.. started to feel better, went for an easy ride, and that night i started getting sick again... i was never so sick in my life. Was in bed for 1 week. I will never again ride if i feel sick.

The flu takes 7-10 days to work out of you.Use the time to rest.I did a race once with flu and i was sick for more than 6 weeks so now i rest when i feel sick.
