Groenkloof-Fountains route link

I rode at Groenkloof yesterday and couldn't find the link to the new 15km section at Fountains. The staff at Groenkloof were of no help. Can anyone help out and let me know which way to steer my bike?

where did you hear about the new section? i can only imagine it would be down by the gate on the tarred road - if you went left instead of right where you'd start the mtb/jeep course.

If you start at the car park and follow the single tracks.

 

 

 

You will get to a jeep track. (I think it is after the 4th single track).

 

 

Old route R and Up.

 

 

New L and down, about 30m after you went down you will get single track on your R.

I also rode at Groenkloof this weekend. I asked the staff at the entrance gate and the hut about the new route. A guy at the hut said that he had asked his boss about it and his boss told him that it was not yet open and had only been used for races so far.

 

I got a map from them but it did not show where the new route is.

 

I can't understand why there was an article in the newspaper if it isn't yet open!
