Shop around, got my TA conversion kit for R780.

My 2015 model has a Rapide R25 wheel upgrade, 740mm Renthral bars and 50mm stem.

Next up is the fork and rear shock but those are big money items so will be some time before they get done unfortunately.

The TA kit has made a difference along with the wider rims. Can only imagine the difference the suspension will make.

Where did you get that axle conversion? I would love to get one for another bike im building. The fork is the best upgrade you can make. Its a awesome bike with a pike at the front. I have had a 160mm pike on it too but its a bit of an odd angle on the climbs. The rear shock can be 200x57 too. Which gives you the same travel as the Reign has. So when you do upgrade the rear go for the 200x57

Sold my previous trance and picked up on monday.

Did tubules yesterday and set up my sag, bell etc. ( do these myself)

Only doh moment is realizing i cant use a saddle bag anymore, which i used on sub 60km rides to hold my stuff.

Nice dropper on that. Is this model also OD2 STEERER?

Bruce Reyneke in Pretoria, included the DT Swiss Axle too.

Yeah rode a bike with a Fox 36 and Monarch RT3 the weekend, the bike itself obviously made a massive difference (Evil Insurgent) but the way it tracked a line, stiff as hell yet so plush. Made me wonder how much of it is suspension and how much the frame? My bike still has the wobbly Fox 32 CTD and Fox CTD shock too.

The standard shock is a 200x57 but internally spaced to 51mm stroke yes.

I would run a 150mm fork with the standard 140mm rear, no need for more travel IMO.

Thanks I'll contact him. I always wonder that too. I just got a santa cruz tallboy ltc with pike in front and fox kashima at the back and i must say, as much as i love giant santa cruz vpp is SOOOO much more plush. The pedal feedback is slightly annoying after riding giant but on the downhill its just a different bike. I REALLY want to try that evil insurgent! @BIBI. hook a brother up:)

See this is my point with the standard bike. You have to pay so much money to get it to a top spec bike. BUT once you have it there its amazing

I don't understand. You buy a mid spec bike, pay an (ZAR - dollar inflated) mid spec price, and then moan about having to spend dosh to get it to top spec. The Trance2 os not a top spec bike. If you want a bike with a pike or a fox34 and TA frame, then buy it like that. The days of buying a bike with top spec for 30k have come and gone.

It's like buying a 2.4 hilux and moaning about it not having cruise control and enough power. I'd you want cruise control and 140kw, buy the 2.8 with the Sandton spec.

Welcome to the third world, where we have champagne taste and a coke budget. And get shafted by prices on everything .

I got a TA conversion kit plus the 12mm TA from Cycles Direct in Sunningdale/Parklandsabout 2 months ago. Total cost was R900 I think. (the TA is actually the expensive part.)

Changed wheels to Easton Arc 30 and rear hub to Hope Evo2. Kept original front hub.

Jip, thats why this is the Trance 2 thread and not the Trance 1 which comes with Pike and carbon wheels if I am not mistaken. But costs over R45K.
