Hello Mntboy

 

Respectfully, the value of the item in question has noting to do with the displeasure I have with Kristie's service. Rather, it is the value of my time wasted in followup after followup trying to get a simple answer to a simple question.

 

The product that I wanted to purchase is FD-5800-B (M/S). This is the code that appears on the retail packaging and on may online store listings. I do NOT however have the Shimano dealer code number for this, nor could it be reasonable suggested that I would. If I walk into a bicycle retailer and ask for a 105 front derailleur/band type and provide the code FD-5800-B (M/S) I don't get blank looks or proclamations that they can't help because I don't have the dealer code. I suggested to Kristie that she contact CoolHeat for the dealer code. She did not and then for days ignored my emails to her for update on my request.

I fear if we continue to discuss this within this thread it would derail what this thread needs to be about. I think it's going to be much easier to agree to disagree.

 

If you really want to continue this discussion we can do so in private via dm's or alternatively you can start a thread of your own concerning this.

 

Does that sound fair enough?

As long as you got an FD somewhere and managed to get some more saddle time, which is ultimately what counts!!!!

DirtyPot, you summed up the reason I'm active on BikeHub so perfectly. I want to give you guys a face, someone who actually cares and won't avoid answering difficult questions (which is so easy to do in an online world). Starting this thread I knew there would be negative feedback, I prefer taking the bull by the horns, and I'm not afraid of saying I messed up. Hope to see you with us soon ! :D

No Worries Simon. Hopefully our critical comments have given you food for thought and a different analysis to the situation.

 

As Tubehunter said I also hope you got yourself a new FD and have been getting loads of miles an' smiles out of it.

Simon, the important lesson to learn from all this is... don't take on an attractive looking female - especially on a male dominated forum  :P 

 

Think you had some valid points, albeit not terribly well articulated. Tone's a bugger on the interwebs too! Hopefully you and Kristie both learnt a few things  ;)

Just placed an order! 

 

Only thing I find payfast to be very slow, had to make about five attempts to pay before it worked. Also had issues when entering the Emperors Palace race. 

Maybe something to address with them? or could just be my connection....

Issues with payfast as well and the tel number on their website goes straight to fax.

Thanks for highlighting the issue with Payfast.

Will look into it, Scotty sent you a pm with regards the fax number, do you mean BuyCycle's number goes to fax / PayFast's support number ? We don't have a fax line which is the reason why I'm asking. ^_^
