Hi Everyone 2 quick questions; 1. What is the seat post diameter for an Alpina Frame? I assume it's something in the 26.x range? 2. Does anyone have a seat post clamp pin? I need the pin with a tab that will fit into the frame clamp notch. Thanks in advance.

Mr Warren Knocker (dog owner), why was your pup not on a leash as required of you? Surely if this was the first public outing with the pup, he should have been on a leach for his own safety. You only have yourself to blame. Mr cyclist(s), while I don't know your side of the story, it sounds like a totally spineless move to injure an animal and not to stop to assess the situation. I have to agree with Dave on this. It doesn't make sense to spend money on the Momsen, when the Merida is perfectly capable and will be fairly inexpensive to upgrade. Assuming that you're going to ride the event for the challenge rather than race for a position, you could easily replace the components with Shimano 3x9 or 2x10 for less money and less effort than converting the Momsen into something you don't really want changed. Besides, the Merida is dual suspension and will be a much more comfortable ride than the hardtail Momsen. :-)

When you say "serviced the headset", do you mean replaced the whole thing? There is no reason the bike shop would have taken off the lower crown race for a service, unless they were installing a brand new headset.

Is it missing or has it not been pressed down onto the crown correctly? If you didn't have a crown race, one would expect to see the bottom bearing assembly more obviously. Would it be possible to take the fork out and send us a picture to be sure? At worst just drop the fork out of the headtube 1cm and it'll be obvious if the crown race is missing.

I have a Lefty Castle Tool that is for the damper removal. As far as I can tell it's for the 1999-2004 DL and DRL 100mm Lefty. Maybe it's what you're looking for?

As far as I can see....the lowers I have and the fork I have are identical. So assuming you have a similar year fork, there should be no issue swapping things out.
