The best performing riders in week 1.

Last year's Fantasy Tour showed a skewed results compared to the actual Giro.

Considering I haven't seen much, how are the real results lining up with the Fantasy Giro resultys?

from 9th to 29th   :(

Lol, I feel your pain; we are on the same trajectory - I went from 10th to 30th

PS. thank you Gerald for the time and effort in organising. Kudos.  I suck, but have huge fun. (akin to my actual cycling)

Very well I'd say. Unfortunately guys like Tjallingii and Berlato (not to mention our own Van Zyl), having been so heroic in the breaks, but aren't getting points love to show for it. That said, Omar Fraile (DD4Q) did get some good points for the first KOM jearsey!

Otherwise, the Fantasy points are lining up very well I'd say. Not much to go on so far.

The comps scoring reflect s the race scoring and so far the truest comp we ve had yet .

I would love to have the breakaways included in the scoring, but the direction planned for these competitions on the Bikehub is to have automated score updates, that require as little administration as possible to update.

We (Admin and I) agreed that we would leave the breakaway out, and only reward the breaks that stay away to the finish. A tough call, but one that had to be made.

If anyone can come up with solution, I'm all ears.

I think it is pretty good as it stands now. Let's see how the next 3 weeks unfold.

One more question - my position on the leaderboard still shows as 3rd with the old points before you fixed the error. It is correct on the spreadsheet though.

The spreadsheet is up to date, yes.

Is it easy and reliable enough to use the breakaways list on ProCyclingStats for each stage?:

Example Stage 3.

Look at the right, just above the route profile: Attackers of the Day

Thanks, I let Admin know.

I'll see what difference it makes to this competition, by running it in parallel. The Giro is merely for bragging rights and also test for the Tour

I have decided to run a parallel score sheet for the Giro, to give points for the riders identified in the breakaway. The names are listed on www.procyclingstats.com under "Attackers of the day".

The original competition, obviously, remains as is - but let's see how the extra 10 points per rider pans out.

Onwards and downwards...had the pink jersey nearly every day and a few stage winners... it is was it is... so guess I have no clue with the rest of my team scoring points to get me going the right way!

Thank goodness the Fantasy Giro is a BETA-version (technically) for the Fantasy Tour later this year, which allows me to iron out some bugs in the system to ensure the Fantasy Tour can run as smoothly as possible, as well as other Tours going forward.

During the parallel version, I picked up some errors in the live version - so there are a few changes on the leader board (this can be updated tonight after the stage results are updated).

I will upload the updated version of the file to Google Sheets later, but it means a change to the link - trying to make the changes on the fly is difficult in Google Sheets, especially formula changes. Also, the Giro has an extra rest day compared to the other Tours, so I've had to split the Giro into 4 weeks, instead of 3 (due to the substitutions) - points already earned for riders substituted needs to remain, and points earned by riders not used need to be excluded. Long story, but it's been fixed.

Cheese is still the leader, but has Team No Clue right alongside for company (tie for 1st place).

Here is the revised leader board:

01 - Cheese's team (661)

01 - Team No Clue (661)

03 - Bankie99's team (645)

04 - tikki's team (638)

05 - Frosty's Flops (633)

06 - JScottP's team (624)

07 - PATHETICO ATHLETICO (622)

08 - ScottC-M's team (617)

09 - Heppy's team (615)

10 - Cool ridin' (592)

11 - Oxter's team (588)

12 - Cav''s team (578)

13 - Jay_B's team (575)

14 - Gen's team (571)

15 - scooby15's team (563)

16 - Gironimo (562)

17 - Secondhand Substitutes (559)

18 - The Banger Boys (554)

19 - Cleavon_Yeti's team (552)

20 - Brickleberry's team (550)
