Nalini Nalini Nalini try them once and you'll never go back!

Cicos 3 have a thinner chamois and are SUPER comfy!

Giranio are also amazing with their gel chamois

Nalini chamois are amazing (and look amazingly like Rapha chamois ;) ;) )

Love the Assos. I weigh 95kg and do all the marathons in it. I did do a proper bike set-up which is Step 1. Unfortunately I cannot afford more than one Assos, bought a Bioracer BIB from my LBS and they are fantastic at < R1,200.

Yup my saddle setup is perfect. I don't do much shifting around on the saddle. I can feel that while riding, the chamois get squished up into my Gooch, and I think gets pushed and rubbed around up in there throughout the ride.

For reference, I am on a Specialised Romin Pro, 155 width as per ass-o-meter, and saddle is spirit level perfect from placing a book on top and levelling out.

I have played with different levels, and tried different saddles, most recently a fizik aliante versus and fabric radius elite. Both are still causing chafing.

Yes, I use chamois cream, I use assos skin repair gel afterwards, and always have clean and disinfected bibs.

Still struggling. Have the giordanas on their way so will see what happens!

dragorosso...something else to try...my merida has a fine adjust on the front of the seat post...when i had the romin evo also a 155 on the merida...i adjusted the saddle slightly down in the front which made it a little more comfortable...you will find if let go of the handlebars and sit upright it feels *** but when in the riding position it helps with the chaffing.

Unfortunately the trek doesnt have this adjustment.

just noticed in this pic how rusted the bolt is...joys of riding the circuit close to the sea :( best i replace it with a s/s one.

good to see that I am not the only 1 finding Assos a bit uncomfy. I purchased the s7 T Cento 2 months ago, and haven't found it all that great, even after trying 3 saddles and having a bike fit done, anything over 2 hours in them and the numbness starts kicking in.

Speak to Phillip at Rapid Sports - They still make and have shorts with the thinner padding.  Pricing is very competitive - ordered 2 pairs of shorts today as I have the same problem as you with the newer generation of cycling shorts

I have been advised this too. Using a Ritchey one bolt post so adjustment is incredibly fine.

I am still going to try out different shorts and see what happens.

if you wear your old bib...no numbness? i find no matter which bib (fox...first accent or assos) i wear if i ride for a long time...the slower the ride the worse the numbness.

my personal opinion...the more time in the saddle the more comfortable it gets no matter what bib you wear...if you are a fat oke like me...then you gona suffer with chaffing a little longer...the reality is until you work off those blobs of fat rubbing against the saddle...no matter what bib you wear you gona have chaffing issues.

how did you find the fabric saddle?

I made  a point of wearing my assos bib to cadence this morning...changed the seat on the bike...set everything up to the right numbers...made sure the seat was level then spent and hour doing some vo2 max intervals...made a point of standing for short periods of time to get the blood flowing between my legs...no cream required afterwards and no bunching between the legs...i also made a note of checking that i wasnt rocking on the seat and that my sit bones were feeling the pressure.

Wow...i sent assos an email and explained what was happening to the chamois...within 24 hours i received a response and my new S7 bib should be here by Wednesday...

now that is what you call service...no hum and ha...blah blah fish paste...i didnt ask for a new bib i merely explained my situation and asked for advise...they upgraded my S5 to an S7 :)

I honestly find the Lassen bibs more comfortable the the R3500 Assos T Cento, long or short ride it doesn't matter. Have now tried 3 saddles, had 2 bike fits bit still not finding that sweet spot.

Need to sell all current saddles and buy new ones to try out.

vivek...do you use chamois cream?

I did the 105 km with my other S5 bib yesterday on the merida...i noticed the more fatigued i got the heavier i sat on the seat...no cut out in the middle caused chaffing in the front centre of the seat...even with cream...i was having to stand up at regular intervals to relieve the pressure and allow circulation...my sit bones felt no pressure indicating that the seat can be adjusted slightly down in the front.

When i sit on the cadence bike for 1 hour...i can wear any of my bibs...they all feel fine for that short period of time...with cream.

I am keen to try out a fabric seat with the slight hollow in the centre...waiting for deno to get the demo one back.

I currently have the Fabric Scoop on, it's not a bad saddle at all for the price, but I figure that I need something slightly shorter in length as I get some numbness in front as I am trying to ride more in the drops now as I become more flexible. This scoop doesn't have the cut out though.

I have also used the Selle Flite flow[cut out] but have a similar experience with this. Both saddles bought new, Selle with about 6 months use and Fabric is just 3 months old so definitely not a saddle issue. Just need to find something that works.

Had a look at the Spez Power which I think may work for me.

So, I've been experiencing some saddle region issues. After playing with various different saddle types, I realise it's time to re look at what goes in between the Gooch and the saddle.

Currently using Assos S5 and S7 bibs but they continue to chafe. They feel like they keep bunching up inbetween my legs and need repositioning after a little while.

When I first started riding, I was given some old momentum branded bibs that I'm sure was actually for tris. But, it's had a really thin, fabric chamois. It was super comfy but I have no idea where to source something similar.

Would prefer to spend less than 1500 bucks but let me know what's up. Also, I'm a larger guy so something with a slightly more generous fit would be great. Currently fit like a glove in assos XL bibs.

Whatever you choose do NOT go the ANATOMIC route. I am doing IM on Sunday. Had the bib for 5 weeks and the stitching just popped open yesterday. Buying from a factory store I suppose you cannot expect more but this is their top of the range Platinum bib @R1400+. The best is they are not willing to exchange it and their service is just shocking.
