Who is in for this one?

Doing the 40km (which is apparently closer to 50km).

Anyone who has done it, how is the route and can someone please share their Strava activity? ????

Its flat, you ride a few sections on the tar road, has 'gras polle' and do 2 laps, so lap 2 consists of being stuck behind slow riders. An easy ride, but have done nicer ones and not really wrth the, what R250?, entry.

Ill check now how to attach the strava

I am also in for the 40km / 50km. I rode the 20km last year and, from what I can remember, it was fairly flat and fast. Some single track through the forest at the beginning and the end. And some road bits thrown in too. I understand that the long route is just 2 laps of the short. Sorry, no Strava info.

Not just slower riders, but the slowest of the short route riders - think families. I really didn't enjoy it.

Also, look out for vehicles during the tar sections. Especially the one part going down on the pavement against the traffic. You cross some side streets and the vehicles doesn't expect you - neither did I the bakkie that I hit at speed...

Oh boy. Doesn't sound "great" at all. I guess it's one for the bucket list and I don't need to do it again it next year.

Sorry man, don't want to put you off, there are some really nice sections. Go out and enjoy it, but have realistic expectations in terms of traffic on the second lap - and the quicker you go the more people you'll catch.

It's not bad at all. It bottle necks at the forest section but after that plenty room for overtaking. The cyclelab track has also been worked on alot making it more enjoyable. I ride there almost weekly and always enjoy it. It is fast and flat but I enjoy it and am looking forward to doing it again this year

Got for road, nothing for mtb.

"We completed the seeding process for both the Emperors Road and MTB Classic over the weekend and riders will receive an sms and email with their batch numbers and start times on Tuesday morning."

Will hopefully receive an sms or email tomorrow, but I am assuming all will be revealed at the number collections

Tyre trouble made me lose quite a bit of time.

A HUGE thanks to the guys that stopped to give me bombs, they saved my race.

Was frustrating, but still a fun day out and Amy Beth McDougall parked next to me in the parking lot
