Bloukrans Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Is there any reason (club constitution, rules, regulations) why the rider cannot be identified? Right to privacy? Defamation?
KarlvN Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 Is there any reason (club constitution, rules, regulations) why the rider cannot be identified? Right to privacy? Defamation? I suppose to protect him from the mob. I am not interested in who he is in particular, but more in what was deemed as fair discipline by the club, as this should be in the public interest, to dissuade further abuse of the trails by members and visitors alike.
Halfdoesyn Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Some people like the bush, others like a neatly manicured trail, while others like smooth roads with all traces of bush removed. Me, I like variety.
Patchelicious Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Is there any reason (club constitution, rules, regulations) why the rider cannot be identified? Right to privacy? Defamation?Perhaps just somebodies moral compass....

Me, I like variety.Thats why we need several bikes, one for each occassion. The first bike, might not always like this idea, but your logic is sound and therefore must be right. So if my first bike catches me roosting a rough trail, or maybe even taking a dirt track, I will be sending her to you for answers

Tubehunter Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Is there any reason (club constitution, rules, regulations) why the rider cannot be identified? Right to privacy? Defamation? Not worth putting the chaps name on here. As soon as that happens, you'll have his Strava account posted up and his rides flagged, then cross referenced to his twitter account and eventually someone posting screen grabs of his Facebook timeline, by which stage the mob mentality will be out of control and the invasion of privacy will far outweigh the invasion of the trail that he committed! Let the club sort it out privately and confirm the sanctions so that the public are aware that something has happened! An adequate number of trail maintenance hours as penance to remain in the club should quickly adjust the mindset and turn the guilty chap into someone who safe guards the trail network in future! Nothing like investing some time and effort into something to understand its value better!

raptor-22 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Careful of rouge riding, specially if you have invested in a multi-visit ring with he trail owner. What is rouge riding? Is it riding where you are pummeled with rotten tomatoes? Is it an off shoot of the colour festival in India ?Or is it Karl 's dodge the red paintball ride ? I know rogue riding is frowned upon but this rouge riding sounds exciting?

You may not get the joy from the trail that you anticipated.
