Absolutely. That was a rather large anticlimax.

Well I wouldn't say anticlimax. . But lekker finish.. really stoked for IAM.

Pippo saw they were screwing the cat and made his little audacious move.. and kluger, well that some serious horsepower there.

Those sprint teams needed a few firecrackers up their behinds. These guys are so scared of leading out the wrong sprinter that they are too hesitant to just put their heads down and go for it, trusting their sprinter to do his job and finish strongly.

Ja sure, it was lekker but for the sprinters it was a big anti climax. Due to their faffing around they were left to pick up the crumbs left over buy those who were actually hungry for the win.

Ja.. shows you how dependent the peloton actually are on some of the sprinter teams to bring it back.. today the others had to come to the party. .cause the big teams had riders up the road and etixx were babysitting Jungles.

Patrick Fletcher, today's live commentator on Cycling News, said it best:

"I can't imagine the mood will be too cheery in the Trek-Segafredo camp this evening. That was Nizzolo's best chance to finally get a Giro stage win. Simply put, they should never have allowed that to happen."

And then in the second last km Kluge realised that all the teams were busy playing poker to see who would flinch first and he he thought to himself I am am just sommer going to go and win this while the rest of them play silly buggers.

At about 3km to go it looked like the leaders had accepted that they would be swept up and then 1 km later it didn't happen and Kluge showed them all what he is made of.

100%, it should go down well on his cv for a new job next year. Good on him.
