tombeej Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 If I was OGE, Trek and Lampre I'd be trying to make this stage as hard as possible for Etixx. Lots of teams and riders who have a good reason to go really hard today. I think there's going to be a lot of riders struggling to hang on all day.

jimmycool Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 Going to be a very fast finish Tough day in the saddle awaits, pace will be very highJa, the sprinters teams are going to keep the pace very hot to make sure the break doesn't stick.
jimmycool Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 And a nice long straight run to the finish line should make for some good sprinting.
ScottCM Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 The breakaway specialists and the small teams will be targeting this stage. A very nice profile for a long range attempt by a small group of committed riders to think they have a chance of staying away. First attack Boem (BAR), Mohoric (LAM), Matthias Brändle (IAM) and Rosskopf (BMC)
ScottCM Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 After 20km of the stage the four have a gap of 3:00. The peloton sees happy to let go out front.
ScottCM Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 It seems that Nippo Vini Fantini is chasing the break after the Italian team failed to place a man in the move. Nippo has brought the gap down to 1:45. This is Kittel's spare bike with pink bar tape.
ScottCM Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 Nippo are desperate to close down the attack or at least get a rider in it. Their case has made for a fast start to the stage.
ScottCM Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 160km remaining from 200km 13:22:25 CESTAfter almost an hour of racing the break of four riders leads by 1:10. They will have to fight hard if they want to stay away.
ScottCM Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 This is the current GC after three stages. With the rollig finale and time bonuses of 3-2-1 at the intermediate sprints and 10-6-4 at the finish. 1 Marcel Kittel (Ger) Etixx - Quick-Step 9:13:102 Tom Dumoulin (Ned) Team Giant-Alpecin 0:00:093 Andrey Amador (CRc) Movistar Team 0:00:154 Tobias Ludvigsson (Swe) Team Giant-Alpecin 0:00:175 Moreno Moser (Ita) Cannondale Pro Cycling 0:00:216 Bob Jungels (Lux) Etixx - Quick-Step 0:00:227 Matthias Brandle (Aut) IAM Cycling 0:00:238 Roger Kluge (Ger) IAM Cycling 0:00:259 Chad Haga (USA) Team Giant-Alpecin10 Georg Preidler (Aut) Team Giant-Alpecin 0:00:26

ScottCM Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 13:33:28 CESTThe gap is down to 30 seconds. We can expect a new break to form if these four are caught. 13:36:18 CESTRace radio confirms the fast start. The riders covered 50.1km/h in the first hour.
