IRONY was most of the VA group got DQ'd that day for riding over the white line.

Didn't you get a 500CHF fine? I have got a couple of those over the years... never paid yet.

Who enforces the rules?

Race organisers might turn a blind eye but the Elite group might not like the new addition.

Nope - just appealed the fine - based on the fact they had no evidence that I was over the line... can't fine someone without evidence... :) and in truth I wan't guilty on those occasions - not that there weren't guilty people in the bunch... :)

Think CSA has learned not to fine a whole racing group these days.

this question came up during the wp autumn and winter league and the officials confirmed no disc brakes in road events. problem - you cant stop riders sneeking into the bunch with them unless the officials do a roll call and bike check. if the organisers allow riders with disc brakes into the bunch the they take the risk.

Please excuse my ignorance here guys, but does that mean no mountain bikes with disc brakes are allowed in the Cape Argus for amateurs registered with PPA and CSA? I assume that if disc brakes are nit allowed on road bikes, that the same rule would apply to mountain bikes. What is the current rule for amateur riders in South Africa please?
