Shangri la Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 When I build my bike I went for a Thompsons Elite Set Back seat post. This gave me an ideal position and weight distribution on my Santa Cruz. I am now keen to get a dropper seat post, but do not want to move my position forward. Do you get a set back dropper post? I'm thinking probably not as it would limit the amount of tube that could drop.

PeterF Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 Most if not all other setback seatposts have the setback at the saddle clamp and not halfway up the seatpost like the Thomson's.
splat Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 I chose the Specialized Command post because of its set back.The Giant doesn't have as much. A quick Google search reveals that the 9point8 Fall Line is available with setback: https://intl.9point8.ca/index.php?route=product/product&path=42&product_id=100 One of two of the KS posts (eTen & dropzone for eg) also have some setback. I have no idea of the availability of teh above two posts in SA
