I enjoy exploring the bush on my mountain bike and would like to download Tracks4Africa onto my Edge 1040. Is it feasible ? and has anyone done it??

I am looking to replace my old Edge 1000 with the new Edge 1040 Solar. The battery is not lasting. The price from Polar Rosebank is quite Harsh!! Anyone know where I can source one from cheaper?? Lord gun in the UK with VAT is about R5000.00 cheaper. Have not added import duty.

I had my Edge 1000 replaced by Garmin after destroying my original unit. The new unit has a memory card for maps. All I am constantly being told by Garmin Express is to download routable maps of Europe! Has anyone downloaded Tracks for Africa onto their Garmin edge units before? Would be great for the bush rides we do.

I have had my Chris King bb serviced by my local Bike Shop: and they have managed to remove and re- install the bearings skew??? why they removed them I am not sure - I have the C King greasing kit and used it regularly - but they are now have to be replaced. When I build my bike I went for a Thompsons Elite Set Back seat post. This gave me an ideal position and weight distribution on my Santa Cruz. I am now keen to get a dropper seat post, but do not want to move my position forward. Do you get a set back dropper post? I'm thinking probably not as it would limit the amount of tube that could drop.
