Nedbank has a facility where you can see what yesterdays exchange rate was - including their fee etc.  - looked like it was higher by a few R100 than my chain reaction basket. Maybe the other cards have the same I just googled Nedbank credit card exchange rate. 

 

ABSA has the same.

 

Eg, I recently ordered from an European site:

The exchange rate according to (Google / XE) was about R15.90 p Euro

ABSA's "selling transfer" rate was about R16.10 p Euro.

I Paid R16.20 p Euro, costing a bit more than I planned.

 

It may be that they added a commission fee on top of their exchange rate, as they do when using your credit card abroad. Somewhere along 0.5% or a minium of R100....but I'll have to Google that.
