Taking care of your bib shorts

What is the best way to keep your bib shorts in good condition.

My last four pairs lasted around two years and then I have a problem with them as they have patches that you can see through, . I know I hate it when I ride behind someone and I can see his two cheecks.

Therefore as soon as I realise this I throw the bibs away.

I would like to know is this due to bad washing wrong , washing powder? Any tips from you experts out there?

I use the netted laundry bags to wash my bibs in. The detergent sold by Assos and others are expensive. I use the liquid detergents to wash mine and use less than for normal washing. Please do not use any fabric softeners. Wash your bibs inside out as well.

It's the UV rays not the washing powder that kills lycra. Dry them indoors and the will last longer.

Check the section that is protected by the bottom of your jersey to see the difference.

I have a pair of Assos, bought in 2012, Wear them every day on my IDT, which is 5 day a week, and they still tight and in good shape, good for another 4 years.
