Odinson Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 The Orange sounds good. Out of interest, how far can you drop your seat before it gets in the way of the rocker?
CdT85 Posted November 2, 2016 Author Posted November 2, 2016 The Orange sounds good. Out of interest, how far can you drop your seat before it gets in the way of the rocker? Can drop it all the way and still clear the rocker. Only thing I have against my current frame is that I cant install a dropper post.
CdT85 Posted January 13, 2017 Author Posted January 13, 2017 Hi guys and girl, Been a while since I posted updates on the build. Managed to pop the damper on the Xfusion rear shock over the holidays, but replaced it with a Fox Float CTD. And finally managed to reduce the Marzocchi 66 from 180mm travel to 150mm. Made the necessary bushes needed as well as improved oil and dust seal presses over my holidays. The finished result: Managed the reduction by cutting the spring down by 30 mm (bought a spare, original is still in tact) and making up 30 mm nylon bushes that fits around both pistons , just below the rebound springs. The work will still need a lick of paint, some new decals and a helicoil or rifnut in the bottom break mount as it is stripped (previous owner failed to mention that). Just first want to verify that it stopped leaking oil before I spend more cash on it. Did a dummy fit over the weekend and quite like the look. Hope I did not kill the geometry too badly. Threw the Mavic rims off, stole my Bontrager Duster OSB rims off my other bike and re-laced the front wheel with the 20mm Woodman hub. Rear rocking a Novatec D362SB 135 x 10 mm solid QR TA. Slowly getting there and working out the kinks in the build. Still undecided about painting her or leaving her raw.
