Convert RLO Reba to MLO

The pop-loc on my RockShox Reba has gone f#cky. In the past I used to get a new manual lock out damper and replaced the remote lock out one with it. I am however wondering if it is possible to just modify the RLO damper to be MLO?

Best money you'll ever spend on a RS is to throw that sack of excrement they call a remote away.

 

You can pull the damper apart and remove the spring, but you'll be stuck with the remote adjuster on top since you can't get a manual lever to fit the spindle, and there's also no detent or friction setting holding the adjuster in the mode you've selected.

 

If you're prepared to deal with that then you can get away with modifying, but for full reliability replace the damper. I may have a second hand one lying around for a good bit less than a new one, PM me if you're interested.
