Good Afternoon Hubbers,

Just a quick question. Has this ever happened to you ? How do I rectify it ?

It seems like its some minor moisture in the unit.

Your advice would be greatly appreciated

If it's under warranty I suggest you return it. Once moisture has got in it will get in again and then you also have the problem of corrosion internally. Moisture and electronics don't do well together. Garmin do replace units with that problem.

Tried the rice, didn't seem to work. When it isn't warm it doesn't happen, just quite concerning that the unit might not work if corrosion kicks in.

 

Out of warranty aswell

Emailed Garmin lets see what they say.

My old polar use to do the same, appeared to mist up on the inside when weather was inclement. No issues, worked well for almost 10 years before it had a close encounter with the tar. The tar won...

It often happens to 'sealed' electronic when you move between temperature extremes, espacially moving from cold into a warm environment.

 

Some manufacturers suggest 'heating up' devices slowly before using them.
